Chapter 3
SUMMARY, CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATION
This study entitled “Popularity Analysis
between Badminton and Basketball,” attempted to determine the elements of
Basketball that can be applied in Badminton in order for Badminton to be as popular
as Basketball.
This
research design that is used in this paper is the correlational research method
wherein it examines two or more variables. In this paper, the research talks
about basketball and badminton. These two variables basketball and badminton
were found to be correlated in nature. The data gathered from surveys and
interviews were used to answer the researched question. The researcher intended
to achieve and find the following objectives:
1 To know the elements of basketball that can be used in
badminton, in order for badminton to be as popular as basketball.
2.
To enhance badminton as a sport in the Philippines.
3.
To apply these elements for badminton.
The
research findings are the following:
1.
The rise of badminton can be obtained in the long run
and in the future.
2.
The popularity of badminton in the Philippines is
declining because of insufficient funds, support and accommodations.
3.
Basketball in the Philippines became more popular
between 1970’s to 1980’s when the rivalry of the team Crispa and Toyota
dominated the League for 9 whole years.
4.
Badminton needs to be appreciated more in the
Philippines.
5.
The rise of badminton is not maximized because of some
people who don’t really know how to play the sport.
CONCLUSIONS
Based
on the findings of this research the following conclusions were drawn:
1.
If badminton was introduced first than basketball,
badminton will be more popular than basketball.
2.
In order for badminton to obtain popularity nowadays,
people need to consider and know what badminton really is and embrace badminton
like basketball.
3.
Monetary support and accommodations are very important
in order for badminton to improve and rise.
4.
In the next following years, badminton will soon be
popular as basketball.
RECOMMENDATION
After drawing the conclusions of the study, the researcher hereby
makes the following suggestions/recommendations:
1.
Barangay centers
should gather badminton enthusiasts to form groups and try to hold competitions
in other barangays in order to measure the capabilities and development of the
enthusiast.
2.
Sports events should
receive support from both public and private sectors in order for them to build
up courts exclusively for badminton.
3.
The government can
conduct free badminton clinics for beginners and trainings
for intermediate and advance levels.
